I don't think Magical Mystery Tour is a bad album at all. On the contrary, I think it's one on their best. It came after Sgt. Pepper's, and I feel it's a continuation of the Beatles psychedelia. Not a sequel or follow-up but a continuation. And they succeeded with flying colors. Okay, the film was a flop, and the EP released in England was..., well.., but the Americans really spiffed it up. The songs in the American LP are in perfect order. "I am the Walrus" belongs last, and is the best, but their other songs are great too. The five extra songs on side 2 of the American album fit like a glove, so it is a perfect record. I've listened to this album since 1970, and it was always one of my favorites.
Magical Mystery Tour a bad album? Absolutely not! Not by a long shot. And the American LP makes it better!
